This makes my life
So, I am frustrated on a frequent basis by a problem that I feel has plagued our society for years. Our constant inability to spontaneously rock out.
Thankfully, the miracle workers over at thinkgeek have solved all of our problems.
With more of these in the world... Well lets just going to say its going to start being a better place.

40 New Species Discovered
So in a crater in Papua New Guinea, they have discovered some new and interesting species of animals. The least of which is a giant ("well fed cat" size) wolly rat.

Get a little wild
I have rather fond memories of Where the Wild Things are. They are slightly vague, but watching this trailer... well it gives me that wonderful feeling of melancholy nostalgia that only memories sustaining out of feeling more than image, can provide.
Sorry, I don't know what happened there. But anyways, check it out. Looks pretty good.

This man makes all my dreams come true
I have loved Electrix Six for many years, it's pretty sweet to see them getting some coverage (particularily with hot, wet sumo wrestlers).
In light of this love, I just thought I let ya'll know to watch this video. It's expectedly wonderfully bizarre. But more importantly, it everything I've ever wanted in a man. I mean, the slicked hair, the skinny 'stache, the glowing peen. Haha, but seriously, I dig it.

Oh yes, it's official.

Well, official if you're in the states. Either way, I feel like this is a step forward. Now all we have to do is make it an official holiday as well.

First off, yes, Watchmen is absolutely fantastic. But you knew that already, right?
More on this later.
In the meantime, feast your eyes on this!

They do exist! And there are at least 15 of them out there. So next time you're on an MMo, or XBL, consider this. That dude who's kicking your ass might just be a chick... in her underwear. I know you love it.

We might get more Futurama!
Billy West has stated that Fox is considering a 6th season, due to the strong DVD sales.
This is the moment I've been waiting for. I've had this empty space in my life- the DVD releases have almost filled it, but the prospect of Futurama back on tv? Mein Gott, I'm going into a Happy-coma.

Oh Hell No!
I just saw a commercial that was a worse attrocity than that car one with the horrible cover of Space Oddity.
I just witnessed a gatorade commercial that not only used Monty Python and the Holy Grails music, but tried to immitate them as well.
What the hell? Do they think we are going to start liking Gatorade because they ripped off Monty Python? I am so sick of corporations trying to steal what's indy, uncool or obscure in order to get themselves the same kind of cred? Oh yeah, I just said cred. Enjoy it.
Anyways, if things keep going down this path, I'm going to be very angry, and you won't like me when I'm angry.

Swords don't need reloading
That's right, ladies and gents.
Dead Rising 2 has been announced.
I've gotta say, I'm a very happy girl right now. So to kill two birds with one stone- those who don't learn from Zombie history are doomed to repeat it.
Max Brooks has a new book called The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded attacks.
Check out this video previewing it.
For those of you who have read The Zombie Survival Guide, this just looks to be a more detailed, graphic novel version. Which looks fantastic.
No new developments on the World War Z movie as far as I can tell. It's ok, I'm sure I'll be getting the call any day now ;)

The Worst use of a Bat'Leth
I think most Klingons out there would be ashamed right now. Apparently, a man robbed two 7-Elevens on wednesday using a Bat'Leth (A Klingon weapon, seen to the left).
Read more here.
I really hope he at least shouted Qapla as he left...

Edit: Ok, I have to be honest, I posted this preemptively. I examined the picture in the article (which I didn't notice to be there at first) and this doesn't look like any Bat'leth I've ever seen. Sure, the original ones were much more rugged, sort of spikier- but the general shape and preportion have stayed the same. This is wayyyy to small, the grips look very wrong, as does the overall shape (in terms of smoothness, roundness, etc). Maybe the image distorts this, or maybe it's an interpretation or homemade version? Or maybe they pegged this one wrong. Not to sure :(

Two Awesome Trailers
So, just to be a bit of a tease, here are trailers for some awesome looking movies that I definitely can't wait for.
First off, we have G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra
It looks pretty sick- although slightly hollywood. But I've come to terms with that. It's rare for a movie based on something geeky, obscure or original to remain that way, but that's what it takes to market it to a wide audience. And hey, throw in some kick-ass explosions, and I can't complain.
So far, all I know about the movie is that our boys are fighting Destro, and the Baroness is looking hotter than ever. For the record, I'm completely unsure about the casting. We'll see... But basically I know nothing. And I like it that way.
Secondly, we have Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
(Is it just me or are all titles starting to sound alike?)
The special effects, and transformations look good as ever. Again, I don't know much, nor do I want to. And no, I have not been freezing the trailer frame by frame, trying to figure out which bots they're reintroducing and which ones they've brought it... Yep, definitely haven't. I know no sploits.
As a rule, I've taken to trying to not discover too many sploits about movies I'm looking forward to, so unfortunately, I'm not going to be presenting you with too much movie news, but I encourage you to do the same. Let yourself be surprised in theaters. You just might like it.

See for yourself and judge...

Cowboy Bebop
Only time will tell on whether or not this post is a good one.
I have recently heard about a live action Cowboy Bebop movie. Which personally, I believe should be pretty fantastic. At least I hope so- it certainly has the potential.
That is, until I heard that it's going to be starring Keanu Reeves.
This tells me two things. First and foremost: Keanu Reeves manages to ruin almost every movie he's in. He's definitely gotten lucky a few times, but lets be honest here- any role that he's done 'alright' would have been 20 times better with a different actor (With the possible exception of Bill and Ted).
Secondly: This indicates that either the target audience is going to be entirely mainstream, with little to no effort made for the fans of the anime or that the people making the movie have no idea what appeals to the fans they're making the movie for.
All I can say for not is I'm not going to pass judgement until I hear more.

These are the Voyages of the Starship Jarvis...
Engage...
My very first Blog entry. It's a little intimidating. Where to start?
For the past few months, I have felt the need to ressurect my blogging tendencies. Continually IMing my friends with links no longer seems efficient. Not to mention comments, opinions, editing and archiving.
And there she be. My Blog.
Don't get me wrong, this isn't the first (and will likely not be the last). But I feel differently about it this time. Every other form of internet communication (be they blogs, journals, profiles, etc) has been jumbled, illogical and dishevelled. So to speak. This time around, I plan on having at least a little consistancy, and perhaps directing this towards an audience rather than simply my thoughts on a page.
Well that's what I plan. At least I can look back on this in a year and see how that turned out.
Now let me move on to the title and explain. As I'm sure most of you recognized, I named this after Star Trek. No, this will not be a Trek blog (however awesome that would be). I just felt it was an apropriate title. I consider all this time on the internet not wasted, but something of an adventure. It's almost living vicariously through this sceen. There's nothing I can't experience, read about, discuss or explore when I have my keyboard infront of me.
By the by, Jarvis is my computers name.
Well, this seems a decent place to start. More of my thoughts on this later.
Thanks for reading.
